Connection, Cooperation & ControlTM

You love your dog.
You just wish he’d listen.

Teach your out-of-control dog to be the soft, attentive walking companion of your dreams

What CCC can do for you

True attention

Cooperation with no force, no harsh equipment, and no bribes. Developing intrinsic motivation, keeping the focus on you— even when they’re excited.

Loose leash

Life with your dog doesn’t have to be a battle of wills. Learn to walk side-by-side, together.

Impulse control

No more yanking you after every smell. Build cooperation, inside your home and out—the first time you ask.

Real calm

Teach your dog how to truly settle, even in new places. Not just another down-stay.

“If you’re hanging onto your dog’s body, it’s because you’ve lost his mind.”

Questions and Answers

  • Seniors and fully-vaccinated puppies are welcome! Dogs can learn to listen and cooperate at any life stage. It’s not too late to help Fido with some new skills.

For puppies who have not yet finished their vaccine series, we can start with private lessons.

  • In CCC, we reward our dog with food puzzles. Dogs find getting a treat through a puzzle much more exciting and valuable than just being handed a treat, through a behavioral principle called “counter-freeloading.” Dogs who don’t work well for food rewards may still find the puzzles exciting and valuable. Even dogs on bland hydrolyzed diets often love the puzzles. For dogs who are not food motivated but will work for toys, we can incorporate a favorite toy into the puzzle.

If you are concerned your dog may not be interested in food rewards, please contact us before your class starts so we can develop a strategy with you.

  • Yes! In our CCC classes, dogs work separately and are always on leash. Dogs do not meet or interact during class.

If your dog cannot settle or feel calm with other dogs in the room, or has a history of dog-dog aggression, contact us to arrange private CCC classes. For dogs who are reactive to or stressed around unfamiliar people, we recommend starting with our Treat/Retreat class before progressing to CCC.

  • No. CCC is a Relationship-Centered Training technique: completely force-free and games-centered, focused on authentic connection between you and your dog.

  • Absolutely. We can provide private lessons at your home, on your schedule. While the classroom environment allows students to learn from and cheer each other on, private lessons mean 1:1 focus, flexible pacing, and an experience customized for you and your dog. Contact us to schedule.
